Making Life More Affordable
Canada is successful because we are a country that cares about and invests in people.
Over the last four years, we have focused on making life more affordable by making historic investments in housing, child care, seniors, and good-paying, sustainable jobs for Canadians. On top of all that, we set ambitious targets to expand our middle class by reducing poverty nation-wide.

National Housing Strategy
One of the issues I hear about most in our community is the need to increase access to safe, affordable housing. For a growing number of Canadians, finding a secure place to live is a significant challenge. For many families, balancing our housing costs with other household expenses can prove impossible.

Climate Change & the Environment
Since being elected in 2015, I have been firmly committed to climate action. These are highlights of the policies, programs, and investments we’ve made and developed since 2015.
Our Liberal government knows that Canadians care about combating climate change and conserving our environment for future generations. That is why we’ve taken bold action to reduce emissions, invest in clean technology, promote green infrastructure and protect our oceans.

Growing the Economy
We’re taking action to create a stronger middle class, support small businesses, and attract high tech investment. To date, over 1,000,000 jobs have been created (mostly full time), our unemployment rate is at a 40-year low, our economic growth has lead the G7, and our debt-to-GDP ratio is shrinking steadily. This is encouraging, and is a stark change from the slow growth we saw under the previous government. See how Terry is working to create jobs, opportunities and growth in Burnaby North Seymour.
Working for Seniors
After a lifetime of hard work, seniors deserve a future to which they can look forward. That is why our government has worked hard on the issues that matter most to seniors: taking action on pharmacare, income security, and affordable housing.
Seniors continue to be one of the fastest growing populations in Canada. This is good news. It means that Canadians are living longer and healthier lives. It also means we need to be prepared for the future.

Reconciliation
Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples is a top priority for our Liberal government. We affirm the inherent rights of Indigenous peoples and are working to implement the calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and we have passed UNDRIP into law.

Our Government’s Most Impactful Investments
With the support of Canadians, our Liberal government has managed to accomplish so much over the past four years. Almost every day, I have the opportunity to see how things like the Canada Child Benefit, Middle Class Tax Cut, and investments in transit and housing have made life better for families in Burnaby and North Vancouver. This report summarizes a significant number of these investments.
Statements and Report on the Trans Mountain Expansion
Through many conversations in our community, and thousands of responses to our surveys, I can say with confidence that constituents in Burnaby North-Seymour, on balance, are opposed to this project. That is why I stand behind my vote against the project in the House of Commons, and why I have consistently presented our concerns to the Trans Mountain Ministerial Panel, Cabinet, Members of Parliament, and directly to our Prime Minister.

Youth
Since 2015, our Liberal government has made significant investments and implemented a wide range of initiatives to support young Canadians in their pursuit of education, employment, and active participation in our democracy.

Healthcare
Our government has made significant strides in healthcare since 2015, with a key focus on enhancing accessibility, quality, and affordability. Through a combination of financial investments, collaborative agreements with provinces and territories, and targeted initiatives, our government has brought about positive changes across various areas of healthcare.
These investments are detailed in this document.
